A Celebration of Vancouver Island Whiskey Is Coming to Merridale This February
For one remarkable evening, Vancouver Island’s whiskey community will come together to pour, share, and celebrate what makes Island-distilled whiskey so distinct.
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, whiskey lovers are invited to Merridale Cidery & Distillery for an intimate tasting event dedicated entirely to Vancouver Island whiskey. Running from 7:00–9:00 PM, this elevated festival brings together a curated lineup of local distilleries, each showcasing expressions shaped by Island climate, ingredients, and craftsmanship.
Designed for those who appreciate terroir, tradition, and thoughtful spirits, the evening offers far more than a standard tasting. Guests can expect a guided journey through whiskey styles and stories from orchard-grown grains to coastal influences, experimental small batches to time-honoured techniques.
An Evening of Elevated Tasting
Throughout the night, attendees will explore unique pours paired with chef-crafted bites designed to complement each whiskey’s character. Light, delicate pairings will highlight fruit and orchard notes, while richer bites will draw out spice, oak, and depth. In addition to tastings, immersive mini-sessions led by industry experts will provide insight into production, aging, and the nuances that define Island whiskey.
The atmosphere promises to strike a balance between refined and welcoming a true celebration of Vancouver Island craftsmanship, local ingredients, and the creative spirit behind the region’s growing whiskey scene.
