About
Hey Whatsup Hello my fabulous foodie friends! I’m Gillian, your soon-to-be culinary compass through the delicious streets of Victoria, BC! Buckle up, because we’re diving headfirst into a journey packed with flavour, vibes, and maybe a few unexpected turns.
So, why trust me to be your guide on this tasty adventure? Great question. I’ve always been obsessed with uncovering new food spots, snapping drool-worthy pics, and telling the stories behind every great bite. It’s not just a hobby, it’s become my career. I manage social media and create content for local restaurants, blending my love of food photography with my background in communications (that’s my undergrad minor!) and my nearly-finished master’s degree from Royal Roads University. During my time at UFV, I dove deep into everything from the geography of food to fermentation and food security in BC. Long story short, food isn’t just what I love. It’s what I live.
This blog? It’s your inside scoop on all things delicious around my hometown. And no, not the staff-room gossip kind of scoop, I mean the real inside info on atmosphere, flavour, and accessibility. Because food isn’t just about taste; it’s about experience. As someone with social anxiety and a hearing impairment, finding spaces that feel welcoming and inclusive is huge for me. Shining a light on restaurants, events, and festivals that make dining accessible for everyone matters deeply. Everyone deserves a seat at the table, literally.
From cozy cafes to high-end dining rooms, I’ve got my fork in every pie (figuratively speaking, of course). Whether you’re a trend-hunting foodie or just after a chill spot to grab a bite, think of me as your go-to guide through Victoria’s food scene.
Let’s be real, this blog’s not about snobby reviews or overhyped “foodie” takes. I’m here to keep it honest. Every review looks at the full picture, accessibility, atmosphere, and of course, what’s on the plate. No knee-jerk judgments, just the genuine experience.

So grab a snack and settle in, my fellow flavour enthusiasts. We’re about to uncover hidden gems, celebrate local legends, and eat our way through Victoria — one bite at a time.
