Meat & Bread Is Coming Back to Victoria with a New Downtown Location
Victoria sandwich lovers might recognize this one Meat & Bread is officially making its return to the city.
The Vancouver-born sandwich shop, best known for its signature porchetta and simple menu of chef-made sandwiches, previously had a location in Victoria, and now it’s getting ready to make a comeback with a new downtown shop at 1203 Broad Street.
If you’ve been missing that freshly carved porchetta, this is very good food news.
The Porchetta Is Coming Back
Meat & Bread’s signature Porchetta Sandwich has long been one of the dishes the brand is best known for. Porchetta is carved fresh to order at each shop and served as part of a menu built around a pretty straightforward philosophy: make simple, fast and delicious sandwiches using high-quality ingredients, strong culinary skills and plenty of heart.
Along with the porchetta, Meat & Bread’s core menu includes:
- Porchetta Sandwich
- Meatball Sandwich
- Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
- Grilled Cheese
The menu is intentionally kept small, but Meat & Bread also offers a rotating feature sandwich, along with the possibility of location-specific creations.
Naturally, we’ll be keeping an eye out to see whether the new Victoria shop gets a sandwich of its own.
More Than Just Sandwiches
Alongside its regular menu, they have Fernwood Coffee in the space creating some delicious cafe style beverages.
Meat & Bread also has a pretty extensive catering program for meetings, office lunches, events and celebrations. Options include Breakfast Catering Bundles, Boardroom Lunches with a selection of sandwiches, sides and snacks, and even whole cooked porchetta roasts available to preorder by the pound.
Because sometimes a sandwich isn’t enough and you need the whole porchetta.
Meat & Bread Returns to Victoria
This won’t be Meat & Bread’s first time feeding Victorians.
The brand previously operated a shop here in Victoria before leaving the local food scene, making the new Broad Street location a homecoming of sorts.
The new shop will be located at 1203 Broad Street in downtown Victoria, putting Meat & Bread right back in the heart of the city and giving longtime fans another chance to get their hands on those familiar sandwiches.
For anyone who never made it to the previous Victoria location, this will also be a chance to finally see what all the porchetta fuss is about.
When Is Meat & Bread Opening in Victoria?
An official opening date for the new Meat & Bread Victoria location is Sept 14th!
One thing we do know: Victoria’s sandwich scene is getting an old friend back.
