BC CrabFest Returns to Victoria’s Inner Harbour This July for a Full Day of Fresh Seafood, Live Music & Coastal Culture

There are few things that feel more like a Victoria summer than spending a day by the harbour with fresh seafood, live music, ocean air, and waterfront views and this July, BC CrabFest is bringing it all back to Ship Point for another unforgettable year.

Returning on Saturday, July 18, 2026, BC CrabFest transforms Victoria’s Inner Harbour into a full-day celebration of BC coastal culture, sustainably harvested seafood, local beverages, music, and community connection.

Now entering its fourth year, the festival has quickly become one of Victoria’s most anticipated summer food events, drawing more than 15,000 guests in 2025 and serving over 1,600 crab boil buckets.

At the centre of the festival is the Authentic BC Dungeness Crab Boil, a hands-on dockside feast featuring fresh, sustainably harvested BC Dungeness crab, BC mussels, potatoes, corn, baguette, Canadian butter, lemon, and signature seasoning, all cooked fresh on-site by executive chefs and culinary students from Camosun College’s Culinary Arts program.

This isn’t your average seafood festival. It’s messy, flavour-packed, waterfront dining at its absolute best.

Guests can choose between Signature or Mini Crab Boil buckets with pre-selected pickup windows throughout the day. And if previous years are any indication, these will absolutely sell out.

The festival is presented by BC Crab Co., a family-run seafood business founded by local commercial fishing families passionate about keeping BC seafood accessible, local, and deeply connected to community.

But BC CrabFest goes far beyond just the food.

Throughout the day, Ship Point will come alive with live music, DJ sets, cultural performances, shanty choirs, and waterfront entertainment running all the way into the evening. New for 2026, guests can stay for sunset harbour drinks presented by Driftwood Brewery, creating an even bigger evening atmosphere along the Inner Harbour.

Families can explore the Seaside Family Zone featuring face painting, bubble shows, children’s book readings, hands-on activities, and interactive performances designed for younger guests.

Meanwhile, the Educational Marketplace offers an opportunity to connect with organizations focused on ocean literacy, sustainable seafood, coastal food systems, and stewardship of BC waters.

The 2026 chef lineup also highlights some incredible culinary talent, including Executive Chefs David Lang (Camosun College Culinary Arts), Paul Stewart (Food Day Canada), Chris Hammer (Mustard Seed), and Scott Doust (Sysco Canada), all helping bring BC coastal flavours to life throughout the festival.

Guests can also sip local BC beverages throughout the day from favourites including Driftwood Brewery, Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, Blue Grouse Winery, and non-alcoholic offerings from Spinnakers.

One thing we especially love about BC CrabFest is its ongoing commitment to sustainability. With support from the CRD Zero Waste Grant, the festival continues to prioritize reusable crab boil containers, a five-stream waste diversion system, and a dedicated Green Team helping reduce landfill waste throughout the event.

It’s these details — combined with the focus on local food systems, fishing communities, and ocean stewardship — that make BC CrabFest feel like more than just another summer festival. It genuinely feels like a celebration of the coast we call home.

And honestly? Sitting on the Victoria harbour cracking into fresh BC Dungeness crab while live music plays in the background sounds like a pretty perfect summer day to us.
