Quick Review

OEB brings a chef-driven take on breakfast to Victoria that you simply can’t replicate at home. Creative, locally sourced, and genuinely drool-worthy — from Moroccan duck bennies to lobster crepes and gnocchi carbonara, this is breakfast done at a completely different level. A must-visit for anyone who takes brunch seriously.

Atmosphere

OEB has an energy that feels fresh and exciting. With an open kitchen layout with market vibes that sets it apart from Victoria’s more established breakfast spots. The space is bright, buzzy, and full of enthusiasm. Still finding its full rhythm as a newer addition to the city, it’s already a compelling place to spend a morning.

Menu Hightlights

Purposeful selections fill their menu, featuring plates that are drool-worthy with flavours simply impossible to replicate at home. OEB commits to using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

OEB’s menu has all the comforting classics but with some inventive twists. Take, for example, their Moroccan Waterfowl Benny, featuring smoked ras el hanout spiced duck breast, porcini mushroom-truffle ragù, and a burst of pomegranate. Or indulge in their breakfast poutines, such as the Get Shorty Rib, loaded with Saint Cyrille curds, Philly-style beef short-rib, topped with bell peppers, red onions, and wild & cultivated mushrooms, all drenched in brown butter hollandaise.

But the deliciousness doesn’t end there. They offer Blue Plate Specials, like the decadent Canadian Lobster & Shrimp Crepe, boasting butter-poached lobster & shrimp scramble, green onions, and brown butter hollandaise, with the option to add a lux touch of organic Sturgeon caviar. And for those seeking something beyond the ordinary, the Gnocchi breakfast carbonara, features gluten-free gnocchi, double-smoked bacon, brown butter hollandaise, grana padano, raw yolk, and a sprinkle of petite watercress.

OEB’s breakfast side is herb-fried potatoes, fried to perfection in beef tallow for an extra layer of yum! Even their lunch offerings, though smaller, pack a flavourful punch, each served with pommes gaufrettes—reminiscent of waffle fries—also fried in beef tallow.

Wash it all down with their large array of breakfast cocktails, from Brunch Punches to Mimosa Flights and Rose Sangrias. Not to mention their specialty coffees, wines, and beers, alongside a stellar selection of non-alcoholic beverages, including lattes, cold brews, juices, and smoothies. OEB ensures every sip and bite is a culinary adventure worth savouring.

Service

Young, enthusiastic, and genuinely eager to make your visit great. The energy at OEB is contagious — the team is friendly, accommodating, and clearly proud of what they’re serving. Still growing into the Victoria dining scene, but the passion and hospitality are already there in abundance.

What Makes It Unique

OEB’s chef-driven philosophy — “learn, teach, and inspire” — shows in every dish. This isn’t just breakfast with a twist, it’s a genuine reimagining of what morning food can be, built on seasonal ingredients, food integrity, and a willingness to go somewhere unexpected. The ability to shop house-made products on your way out is a lovely touch that extends the experience beyond the meal. Victoria’s breakfast scene has a worthy new contender.

NOTE: The photos below that include the market items were from the soft open, they do not have an outdoor market, you can purchase all items inside the restaurant.
