Victoria is getting Lee’s Donuts!

One of BC’s most iconic donut shops is officially making its way to Vancouver Island.

Lee’s Donuts, the legendary Vancouver bakery that’s been handcrafting donuts since 1979, has announced it will be opening its first-ever Vancouver Island location in downtown Victoria.

The new shop will be located in the Broadview Block at the corner of Broad and View Streets, directly across from the Bay Centre.

Founded by Alan and Betty Lee inside the historic Granville Island Public Market, Lee’s Donuts has spent more than 45 years building a loyal following with its fresh, handmade donuts and commitment to traditional recipes. What started as a single market stall has grown into one of BC’s most recognizable bakeries, with locations throughout Metro Vancouver.

The bakery is best known for its iconic Honey Dip donut, but the menu also features favourites like maple iced, chocolate iced, cinnamon sugar, jelly-filled, cake donuts, and a rotating lineup of seasonal flavours. Every donut is still made fresh daily using the original recipes that helped put Lee’s on the map.

In 2018, the business entered a new chapter under a group of local Vancouver owners who have continued to honour the bakery’s legacy while introducing new collaborations and seasonal creations.

An official opening date for the Victoria location hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s safe to say local donut lovers won’t have to hop on the ferry for much longer.
