Small Gods Brewery

One of the most aesthetically pleasing and delicious breweries

Atmosphere

In the heart of Sidney sits Small Gods Brewery, a cozy gathering place where craft beer meets creativity and community. Walking in feels like being welcomed into a friend’s living room—the kind where laughter comes easy, glasses are always full, and someone’s probably talking about the next fun collab with a local brewery or restaurant around town.

The atmosphere radiates warmth. The staff greet you with that genuine West Coast friendliness that instantly puts you at ease. Between the leafy plants, shelves lined with vintage books, and a few classic typewriters, the space oozes charm and character. A perfectly timed playlist hums in the background at just the right level to inspire conversation, clinking glasses, and good vibes that stretch long into the evening.

Menu

Small Gods doesn’t just pour great beer—it serves up food that’s every bit as memorable. The menu blends comfort and creativity with an impressive mix of deli-style sandwiches, snacks, salads, and desserts.

My favourites are The Hanoi and The Saigon. The Hanoi features braised smoked tofu, hoisin chilli sauce, cilantro, cucumber, jalapeño, and pickled daikon and carrot, all stacked on a freshly baked house bun. The Saigon swaps in tender braised pork belly but keeps those same bright, punchy flavours that tie the whole experience together. Both are absolutely unforgettable.

The team at Small Gods often collaborates with local eateries and bakeries, introducing rotating specials that celebrate Sidney’s vibrant food scene. It’s not unusual to find a limited-edition sandwich inspired by a nearby chef or a dessert made in partnership with a beloved local pastry shop.

When it comes to drinks, their lineup is strong. You’ll find Small Gods’ signature craft beers alongside local ciders and wines from the region. The cocktail menu includes favourites like shafts and margaritas, plus the occasional creative surprise. For those going alcohol-free, the selection of kombuchas, sodas, and mocktails ensures everyone finds something refreshing.

Service

You can tell right away that the staff here genuinely care about what they do. Service is friendly, quick, and wonderfully down-to-earth. Menus are easy to find—there’s one on the wall and copies to bring to your table for convenience.

Because it’s family-owned and operated, the hospitality feels personal. The team always seems excited to chat about new menu launches, upcoming brewery collaborations, or community events. It feels less like ordering from strangers and more like catching up with old friends who really love their craft.

Uniqueness

What makes Small Gods truly special goes beyond the plates and pints. They’ve built a space that’s inclusive, sustainable, and deeply community-minded. Every choice from their partnerships with local makers to their sustainability practices, reflects genuine care for people and the planet.

This is a place where everyone feels welcome, whether you’re here for a quiet afternoon with a book, a lively night out with friends, or one of their collab events celebrating Sidney’s creative food and beverage scene. It’s the kind of brewery that reminds you why local matters and why every good meal deserves to be shared.
