Quick Review
The tasting room is stunning, a massive underwater mural by a local artist covers the walls, a giant hop monster hangs from the ceiling, and local artwork available for purchase fills the space with genuine community character. The beer is award-winning, the house-distilled gin cocktails are quietly excellent, and the food partnership with Dumpling Drop means the pork belly dumplings and bao buns are every bit as much of a draw as what’s in your glass. Service is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. Come for a pint, stay for dinner — you’ll find it very easy to do both.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere here strikes a great balance between lively and relaxed. The space is warm, welcoming, and incredibly well-kept, with music playing at just the right volume to create energy without overpowering conversation. Whether you’re catching up with friends, meeting someone for a first date, or simply enjoying a pint after work, it’s the kind of place that’s easy to settle into and stay awhile.
As you look around, you’ll start to notice all the details that give the brewery its personality. The centerpiece is a stunning underwater-themed mural created by a local artist, filled with colourful marine life that stretches across the walls and brings the space to life. Floating above it all is a massive hop monster suspended from the ceiling a playful and unmistakable nod to the brewery’s love of great beer. Together, the mural and hop monster create a space that’s both fun and memorable.
The brewery also showcases local artwork throughout the tasting room, with many pieces available for purchase. It’s a thoughtful way to support local artists while giving visitors the chance to take home a little piece of the community. Altogether, the space feels creative, welcoming, and uniquely local, exactly the kind of place you hope to find when exploring BC’s craft beer scene.

Menu
Driftwood’s beverage program goes well beyond great beer. Alongside their core lineup and rotating seasonal releases, you’ll find a thoughtfully curated selection of cocktails, spirits, ciders, and non-alcoholic options. Because they distill their own gin under the Driftwood Spirits label, the cocktail menu naturally leans gin-forward, with standouts like the Patio Pie, Cornish Breakfast, and Gin Margarita. That said, there are plenty of options for whisky lovers too, including an excellent Old Fashioned and Boulevardier. They also pour local ciders from Junction Cidery, making it easy to keep your experience local no matter what’s in your glass.
When it comes to food, Dumpling Drop is every bit as much of a draw as the beer. The menu is built around shareable dishes that pair perfectly with a pint, from handmade dumplings and fluffy bao buns to crispy wings, spring rolls, and loaded dumpling tater tots. On our visit, the pork belly dumplings and bao buns were standout choices, but there are plenty of reasons to come back and work your way through the menu.
If you’re looking for something a little more substantial, dishes like the Massaman Curry and Lemongrass Tamarind Salad round out the menu beautifully, while rotating features keep things fresh for regulars. And don’t skip dessert locally made ice cream from Kid Sister and rotating Saltchuck Pies provide the perfect sweet ending.
The combination of award-winning beer, house-distilled spirits, creative cocktails, and one of the most unique food partnerships in the city makes Driftwood feel like much more than a brewery. It’s the kind of place where you can easily settle in for an afternoon and find yourself staying through dinner.
Service
Driftwood offers full table service, creating a relaxed and welcoming experience from the moment you arrive. The team strikes a great balance between being attentive and giving guests space to enjoy their visit, whether you’re stopping in for a quick pint or settling in for a longer meal.
One thing that really stands out is how knowledgeable the staff are. Whether you’re curious about a specific beer, looking for a food pairing recommendation, or interested in learning more about their spirits and cocktails, the team is always happy to share their expertise. Their passion for what they do is evident, and it adds an extra layer to the overall experience.
